Both schemes will be developed by Citycare, the partnership between Hull Teaching Primary Care Trust (PCT) and the Sewell Group that has already revolutionised health care facilities in the city.
Both of the new centres will house GP practices and other associated health services, providing joined up care and fit-for-purpose facilities in north Hull. The centre in Kingswood is expected to house up to four GPs, whilst an existing surgery in Grenwich Avenue will relocate to the Bilton Grange centre.

Jo Barnes, Chief Executive of Citycare, said: “Everyone involved with Citycare is delighted that plans for new health centres at Bilton Grange and Kingswood were given the green light. We’re really looking forward to the next stages of these developments that will really benefit the community.”
The Bilton Grange centre is a 1,636 metre-squared scheme, while the new facility at Kingswood is 1,232 metre-squared. Jo added: “The people of Bilton Grange and Kingswood deserve access to modern, state-of-the-art facilities and the realisation of both schemes will be another step in the complete modernisation of primary and community care in the city.”
Citycare has already successfully delivered the first phase of Hull’s NHS LIFT programme, with six new centres operational and work on the seventh – the flagship £14m Orchard Park Neighbourhood Integrated Service Centre – well underway. Over a period of 25 years, it is estimated that £100m worth of investment will be made to improve Hull's primary care estate.
Over the past three years Citycare has become recognised as one of the leading regeneration organisations of its type in the UK.
